Slip Covers

What are Slip-Covers?

Slip-Covers are tailored upholstery covers that allow you to change the fabric of your lounge without re-upholstering:

Slip Wash Covers

Slip Wash Covers are a Machine Washable alternative, which gives you the freedom to change the look of your lounge and can be removed from the upholstery for washing or dry-cleaning.

Replacing your Slip Wash Cover:

Ensure the zip, velcro or buttons are fully open, then draw cover over both top back corners. Draw cover forward over first arm and make sure that the facing fits over the front arm panel. Repeat on the second arm. Tuck in excess cover between seat and sides and back.

Straighten skirt (if fitted) at base and zip up. Gently fit the cushion covers making sure that the corners of the cushion fill the corners of the cover before zipping. For loose seat and back cushions or side pillows, fold cushion in half when filling covers. For ‘scatter’ style cushions, gently work the pillow inserts into the cover corners for a full fit.

Washing:

  • If your covers are too bulky for your machine we recommend professional laundry washing.
  • Prior to laundering make sure all zippers/buttoned/Velcro openings are closed.
  • Use a gentle cycle and don’t push the temperature past 40 degrees.
  • If using a tumble dryer, use a cool setting for 30-40 minutes. During drying, open dryer and pull fabric apart to ensure the centre dries.
  • Remove when slightly damp and return to furniture.
  • Ironing should not be necessary, but if required, iron on the reverse side using a light steam.

REMEMBER:
There may be minor colour change in the initial washing stages. We recommend laundering in complete cover sets to ensure colour variation between cushions and main covers does not occur.

DO NOT:

  • Line dry, as weight of wet fabric may cause stretching.
  • Mix different colours or fabrics in the wash.
  • Squeeze or wring by hand.
  • Dry in direct sunlight as this may accelerate colour loss.
  • Apply detergent directly to covers when washing.

Undercover Fabric:

It is essential that the undercover upholstery is only top-stitched and not pipped as this will cause premature wear of the top cover.

Fabric Suitability:

We recommend you only use fabrics labelled Slip Wash Cover. Not all fabrics are suitable for necessary tailoring and cleaning demands.
